PERFORM AT YOUR BEST - PILATES AND CONDITIONING

Feel and Perform at your best.

Live life without limits.

Clinical Pilates - Reformer Pilates

Clinical Pilates is a powerful tool that our clinicians have extensive post-graduate training in, to provide individualised exercise programs for injury management and all the way to physical performance.

Clinical Pilates is different to pilates for a number of reasons.

Primarily clinical pilates is an individual program developed for a person following a thorough assessment from a clinician. At Back On Track our Physiotherapists will assess your movement patterns and consider your current and past injuries prior to prescribing an appropriate exercise program for you.

Clinical Pilates is often performed on specific equipment. Our Albury and Corowa clinics are fully equipped with Clinical Pilates reformers and trapeze tables. This equipment can be used to “assist” or “resist” movement and is part of the reason why Clinical Pilates is an effective tool for managing injury and physical performance across the Lifespan from young to old and from people recovering from injury or surgery all the way up to elite athlete performance.

Our clinical Pilates classes are conducted by a Physiotherapist, and each group member completes their own individualised exercise program under close supervision and guidance, you can be assured of a safe and effective exercise session.

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING

To develop and return to robust and resilient bodies, clients often require additional strength and conditioning. Our team prides itself on prescribing exercise like prescription medication. In order to perform at your best, and reduce future injury risk, an optimised exercise program can be crucial.

Our team will work with you to develop a program that finds the right exercise, at the right intensity and volume for you.

Our clinics are also fully equipped so you can complete your strength and conditioning onsite, and under supervision, or if you're a confident gym user we can refine your program to make efficient use of your time.

HYDROTHERAPY

Hydrotherapy is Physio in water. Our Hydrotherapy programs are designed with the individual in mind. Water is a great environment to rehabilitate painful and swollen joints or sore bodies such as Polymyalgia Rheumatica or Fibromyalgia. The warmth and buoyancy of water is conducive to movement and offers respite to allow more activity with less pain, and the resistance of water can be a great way to introduce exercise post surgery. In order to participate in our Hydrotherapy program, we perform an initial land based assessment, to design a program suitable for you.

PERFORM AT WORK

Injured at work? We're here to get you back on track. Work can involve heavy lifting, sustained postures, frequent bending and manual handling. It can be quite demanding on the body. That's why we aim to treat our work related injuries like we do our professional athletes.

Our clients do not want to be off work for extended periods of time, they like sports people, want to be back to normal duties as soon as possible. As such we are thorough with our assessment and treatment planning to get you back on modified duties as soon as practicable. We engage with your General Practitioner, Insurer and/or Employer to develop an appropriate individualised rehabilitation plan.

All of our clinicians have undergone additional training to provide effective and efficient injury management for workplace injuries.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT & FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT

INJURY RISK SCREENING

AxIT

The AxIt system (Force Plates and dynamometers) provides real time feedback to a movement by providing objective strength data.

For example, during a squat, side to side symmetry and rate of loading can be assessed, to see if one side is taking less weight or is being loaded up more slowly.

This allows asymmetries to be detected and ensure a strengthening program targets areas of deficiency (against the other side or against population norms).

Retesting allows progress to be tracked which in turn helps with client motivation and goal setting.
